The monetary cost of stopping native forest logging in Australia is infinitesimal compared with the damage it is at present causing the earth's atmosphere, firstly because Co2 is not being absorbed by the mature trees and secondly by the resulting Co2 emissions from the logging operations including burning and degradation of the soil. It is estimated that 30 % of carbon emissions in Australia come from logging, Somehow we have to get this simple fact through to our apparently muddle-headed politicians. One of the main reasons for voting the Rudd government into power was that they told us "climate change" was a first priority yet one of the MAJOR causes of climate change is being ignored. Why?
